Job summary

NHS Shetland is seeking a Receptionist for Gilbert Bain Hospital on a bank basis with various pro rata hours. The post offers a Band 3 salary range of £29,103–£31,409 per annum, plus a Distant Island Allowance of £2,578 per year (pro rata).

You will be the first point of contact for patients, staff and visitors, supporting frontline healthcare delivery. Most applicants start at Band 2 (£26,696–£28,988 pro rata) and can progress to Band 3 upon competency completion.

Qualifications

• Previous reception/secretarial experience and skills are desirable.
• In house training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Support frontline healthcare delivery as part of the Gilbert Bain Hospital reception team.
• Be a key contact for patients, staff and visitors and coordinate responses and resources as needed.
