Job summary

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Pharmacy Dispenser to support the efficient operation of the pharmacy service. You will dispense prescriptions in line with departmental policies and help maintain stock levels across wards and departments.

The role involves working on Trust sites as required, upholding confidentiality, ensuring patient safety, and contributing to team tasks, audits and service development.

Qualifications

• Dispense prescriptions in accordance with departmental policies.
• Maintain accurate stock levels in wards and departments.
• Work across multiple sites within the Trust when required.
• Follow health and safety requirements (COSHH) and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Dispense in-patient, discharge and out-patient prescriptions.
• Maintain stock levels and complete daily stock takes.
• Top up ward/department supplies as required.
• Check expiry dates and rotate stock with proper logging.
• Monitor fridge temperatures daily and report exceptions.
• Prepare, update and print computerised stock lists.
• Record prescriptions, requisitions and pharma information accurately.
• Order stock from the Pharmacy Store as needed.
• Keep a clean, tidy and organised work area.
• Participate in meetings and audits to improve service.
• Rotate duties with other dispensing staff to maximise efficiency.
