Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking Pharmacy Assistants to cover stocks, dispensary, and aseptic services across hospital sites. Training will support you to complete NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services with on-site assessors.

You will gain experience in stock management, dispensing with a dispensing robot, and handling medicines, with shift patterns including late nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rota.

Qualifications

• Four GCSE including English and Maths at Level 4 or above or equivalent, NVQ 2 in Pharmacy Services.
• Ability to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Stock management: maintain stock levels, pick and pack medicines, visit wards to replenish stock.
• Inputting orders into computer systems and storing stock with rotation.
• Reception duties handling prescriptions and calls; dispensing medicines with support from a dispensing robot.
• Processing and disposing of medicinal waste; working in clean rooms for IV medicines and monitoring.
• Maintain accuracy in stock and assist in ward stocking and late-night/rota shifts.
