Job summary

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to service, repair and improve a wide range of mechanical plant and building services across hospital sites in Slough. The role supports safe, compliant infrastructure and patient care by a skilled Estates team.

You will work 37.5 hours per week, with on-call duties and a daytime schedule. Applicants should have Level 3 City & Guilds/NVQ in electrical installation, HTMs knowledge, and NHS experience.

Qualifications

• Level 3 City & Guilds Craft or NVQ equivalents in electrical installation/maintenance
• IT literate and able to use maintenance systems
• Evidence of good written and communication skills for effective working relationships
• NHS experience and HTMs knowledge
• Ability and willingness to undertake emergency-situation repairs

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining mechanical plant and building services across hospital sites
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and statutory maintenance tasks
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on engineering plant and equipment
• Supporting operation and maintenance of critical hospital systems including water treatment and steam
• Liaising with departments to coordinate maintenance and minimize disruption
• Producing technical reports and condition assessments
• Participating in on-call rota and providing out-of-hours support
• Mentoring apprentices and colleagues

Gas Safe registered/trained
