Job summary

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to maintain and improve critical hospital mechanical plant and building services across its sites.

Working in a skilled Estates team, you will service, repair and optimise systems such as TMVs, BMS, water and steam, with on-call duties and a focus on compliance and patient safety. NHS experience preferred; Level 3 in electrical installation or equivalent essential.

Qualifications

• Level 3 City & Guilds Craft or NVQ equivalents in electrical installation/maintenance.
• IT literate with good written and communication skills.
• Experience in NHS environment and HTMs knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Servicing Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs) and temperature monitoring.
• Plumbing tasks including sink and tap installations.
• Performing planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and statutory planned maintenance (SPM).
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on engineering plant and equipment.
• Supporting operation and maintenance of critical hospital systems, including water treatment and steam systems.
• Troubleshooting Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Calibrating and maintaining mechanical and electrical installations.
• Coordinating maintenance activities across departments to minimise disruption.
• Producing technical reports and condition assessments.
• Assisting with engineering improvement projects and lifecycle planning.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and compliance documentation.
• Participating in on-call rota and out-of-hours support.
• Supporting development of apprentices and colleagues through mentoring.
• Working across Frimley Health sites as required.
