Job summary

Sodexo is recruiting a Mechanical Manager for Royal Stoke University Hospital and Haywood Hospital. You will lead a skilled mechanical engineering team, oversee planned and reactive maintenance, manage specialist contractors, and ensure compliance across a complex healthcare estate.

The role requires a mechanical engineering qualification (HNC/HND or equivalent), substantial maintenance experience, and strong leadership abilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified mechanical engineer with HNC/HND or degree.
• Experience leading mechanical maintenance in complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical engineering team and manage performance.
• Oversee PPM and reactive maintenance across hospital estates.
• Ensure safe, compliant operation of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Manage contractors and service providers to high standards.
• Maintain maintenance and safety records and support lifecycle projects.
• Build relationships with clinical teams and estates stakeholders.
