Job summary

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a motivated chef to join the in-house fresh cook kitchen, delivering healthy, nutritious meals to patients, staff and visitors. You will work with the head chef and catering team to meet high standards and comply with food safety regulations.

You will follow recipes, manage portion control, monitoring allergen data, temperature records, and attend mandatory training to help maintain safe, high-quality meals across the hospital.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy kitchen environment.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety guidelines.
• Ability to plan and prepare meals from scratch with attention to allergen information.
• Good maths for portion control and stock management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals to recipes and timing.
• Keep working area clean and safe.
• Maintain accurate allergen data and correct labelling.
• Record temperatures and ensure HACCP compliance.
• Attend mandatory training and CPD opportunities.
• Support team to meet time pressures and assist with service.
• Communicate improvements and participate in team meetings.
