Job summary

Cygnet Group’s Cygnet Hospital Ealing is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the chef, help prepare balanced meals and keep the kitchen clean and safe for service users in a care setting.

You’ll work early or late shifts (37.5 hours a week) across a 7‑day rota, with training, DBS check and opportunities to develop in catering. The role offers a supportive team, subsidised meals and pension benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous catering experience.
• HACCP and Food Safety Training.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Care setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the team in providing balanced, appetising meals.
• Perform basic food preparation, cooking tasks and other kitchen duties.
• Wash utensils and ensure they are stored appropriately.
• Sort, store and distribute ingredients, check deliveries and assist with stock ordering.
• Promote and maintain a positive attitude toward clients and staff.
• Maintain personal hygiene and ensure the kitchen is clean and hygienic.
• Handle and store kitchen equipment per procedures.
• Use chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.
