Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire in Scotland is seeking a dedicated Domestic Services operative to provide a clean, safe environment for patients, staff and visitors across NHSL premises. You will perform a range of cleaning tasks using machinery and manual methods, following daily schedules and reporting issues to the supervisor.

The role requires compliance with health and safety guidelines, including COSHH and PaMOVA training if identified.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
• On-the-job training and induction typically 4–6 weeks to achieve full competency across duties.
• Working knowledge of Health & Safety including risk assessment.
• PaMOVA training level 1 and 2 if identified following a risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a range of cleaning tasks using machinery, equipment and cleaning appliances with manual handling.
• Ensure cleaning is completed to required standards and report any areas not cleaned due to access issues.
• Use cleaning materials in line with Health & Safety and COSHH guidelines.
• Clean all equipment, furniture/fittings and surfaces as per Daily Weekly Cleaning Schedules.
