Mitie is seeking a Catering Assistant at Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, to deliver excellent service while adhering to cleaning and health & safety standards. You will help prepare and maintain dining areas and handle food service tasks with accuracy.

The role supports a permanent, full-time contract (32.5 hours/week) with a salary of £21,500–£22,000 per year, reflecting focus on customer satisfaction and team collaboration in a hospital environment.

Formación

• Previous catering experience in a similar environment (desirable).
• Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates (training provided if not held).
• Adequate numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
• Passion for customer service and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Adaptable, detail-oriented, and confident with strong organisational and time management skills.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and maintain dining and service areas, including furniture, trolleys, and cleaning equipment.
• Serve food in correct portions and wash dishes, cutlery, and catering equipment.
• Clean all catering areas daily and follow health and safety standards.
• Handle cash collection, banking, and maintain records and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and colleagues to deliver excellent service.
