Job summary

Mitie is recruiting a Catering Assistant for Russell's Hall Hospital to deliver high-quality patient meals and maintain hygiene standards. You will work 3.15–6.45 hour shifts, five days a week, including weekends, on a permanent contract with training provided.

You will prepare areas, serve meals, follow food safety procedures, and communicate professionally with patients and staff. A reliable, caring, and flexible team member with good English is required; previous catering or healthcare

Qualifications

• Reliability and professional demeanor required.
• Good English communication and customer service skills.
• Experience in catering or healthcare is desirable but not essential; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare catering areas, trolleys and equipment for meal services and keep areas clean and organized.
• Serve meals and refreshments to patients, following dietary requirements.
• Clear services, wash catering equipment and maintain high hygiene standards.
• Follow food safety, allergens, infection prevention, health & safety procedures.
• Communicate professionally with patients, ward staff, visitors and managers.
• Work flexibly across wards and the RDU to provide cover as needed.
• Read and follow written instructions and documentation accurately.
