Job summary

Marie Curie UK's Glasgow Hospice is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join the facilities team in a permanent, full-time role. You will carry out safety checks, monitor plant rooms and oxygen systems, and coordinate contractors to keep the hospice environment safe and welcoming for patients and families.

You'll use computerised systems for records and maintenance documentation, apply COSHH and safety guidelines, and work with clinical and admin teams to support high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Recent and relevant maintenance experience or Level 2 City & Guilds in a relevant trade.
• Full, current UK driving licence.
• Confident using computers to complete records and maintenance documentation.
• Knowledge of building management systems and willingness to learn.
• COSHH regulations knowledge and application.
• Strong health and safety awareness and safe working practices.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive, independent work style with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safety and compliance checks.
• Monitor plant rooms and oxygen systems.
• Respond to maintenance issues and coordinate contractors.
• Support hospice operations and clinical/administrative teams.
