Job summary

Marie Curie is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for the Glasgow Hospice to join the facilities team. You will perform safety checks, monitor plant rooms and oxygen systems, and coordinate contractors to keep the hospice safe and welcoming for patients, families and staff.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on maintenance experience or a Level 2 City & Guilds, a full UK driving licence, and comfort using digital systems to record audits and maintenance data.

Qualifications

• Recent and relevant maintenance experience, or a Level 2 City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant trade.
• A full, current UK driving licence.
• Confident using computers and digital systems to complete records, audits and maintenance documentation.
• Knowledge of COSHH regulations and their application within a workplace environment.
• Strong communications skills and ability to work with colleagues and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out essential safety and compliance checks, monitoring plant rooms and oxygen systems.
• Responding to maintenance issues, coordinating contractors and supporting hospice operations.
• Working closely with clinical and administrative teams to keep the hospice running smoothly.
