Job summary

Ashgate Hospice is seeking a Dining Room Assistant to join the hospice cafe team at Old Brampton. You will serve food and beverages, handle the till, process payments, and maintain a clean, welcoming dining space for patients, visitors and staff.

The role involves basic food preparation, stock rotation and close collaboration with chefs, catering assistants and volunteers to ensure high standards of presentation and service. DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing role with service to patients and visitors.
• Adhere to food hygiene, allergen, infection control and health and safety procedures.
• Follow financial procedures and maintain professional presentation.
• Willingness to complete mandatory training and DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Serve food, snacks and beverages in the hospice cafe.
• Operate the cafe till and process payments accurately.
• Keep dining area clean, welcoming and well presented.
• Assist with basic food preparation and stock rotation as required.
• Work with chefs, catering assistants and volunteers to ensure smooth service.
