Job summary

TeacherActive is supporting a secondary SEND school in Selly Oak to appoint a Horticulture Teacher on a full-time, 6-month placement starting on 9th October. You will deliver engaging horticulture lessons to secondary pupils, adapting teaching to meet individual needs.

The ideal candidate holds a teaching qualification or demonstrable horticulture experience, with SEND experience and the ability to tailor lessons for a range of abilities.

Qualifications

• Relevant teaching qualification or demonstrable experience teaching horticulture.
• Experience within horticulture and practical horticultural activities.
• Previous experience working within a SEND setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with MLD, SLD and/or SEMH needs.
• Ability to adapt lessons to meet a range of individual learning needs.
• A patient, resilient and engaging approach to teaching.
