Our Client in Canterbury is seeking a skilled Horizontal Borer to join a stable manufacturing team. The role involves operating TOS W100 horizontal boring machines and performing milling, drilling and tapping to exacting specifications.

The successful candidate will work independently, maintain tight tolerances and contribute to high-quality components, with overtime opportunities and a secure, long‑term position in a respected precision engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Horizontal Borer.
• Strong proficiency operating TOS horizontal boring machines (W100 experience highly desirable).
• Ability to work to tight tolerances with minimal supervision.
• Solid background in precision engineering or machining.
• Reliable, steady and quality‑focused approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Operate horizontal boring machines, primarily TOS W100 models.
• Carry out milling, drilling and tapping operations.
• Produce components to tight tolerances and detailed engineering drawings.
• Work independently to a consistently high standard.
• Maintain quality, accuracy and attention to detail throughout the machining process.

Horizontal Borer

Location: Canterbury

Salary: Up to £18 per hour (dependent on experience)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 39 hours per week

• Monday‑Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm (30‑minute break)
• Friday: 8:00am - 3:30pm (30‑minute break)
