Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a time-served Manual Vertical Borer for a laid back role with abundant overtime in Ashton-under-Lyne. You will set and operate vertical borers, work on both horizontal and vertical CNC machines and contribute to heavy engineering workloads.

The package includes generous overtime, 33 days holiday, and a year-end bonus scheme. The role offers autonomy, training where needed, and a Friday early finish.

Machine Operator (Manual Vertical Borer)

Ashton-Under-Lyne

£40,000 (OTE £60,000) + Training + Company Benefits + 33 days holiday + £500 End of year bonus

Are you a time served Manual Vertical Borer or similar from a heavy engineering background seeking a laid back role with an abundance of overtime?

Do you want full autonomy over your day, within a family feel company who will invest heavily into your workplace satisfaction?

Do you want a hands on role with secure days only shift patterns with Fridays afternoon free, where you actually set and operate your own machine?

On offer is a role with unlimited overtime, a solid 33 days holiday with a 3% pension and £250 bonus paid twice a year, where you will finish 4:30pm all week and a 1:00pm knock off on Friday.

In this role, you will be working on horizontal and vertical CNC machines. There will be a variety of workload, as you will be manufacturing and supporting a variety or services into the Heavy Engineering industry. There is a a generous amount of overtime available, allowing you to further boost your earnings.

This role would suit a Machinist from a BORER background, who is competent using Fanuc controls, looking to join a role with an abundance of overtime, and training where needed.

This role:

• Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm – Friday early 1:00 pm finish
• Based in Ashton – under – Lyne
• Setting and Operating Vertical Borer Machine’s
• 15+ hours a week in overtime (Optional)

The person:

• Proven experience as a CNC Borer
• Fully capable with Fanuc
• Offline programming experience is a must
• Commutable to Ashton – under – Lyne
