The Loss Foundation is a registered charity specialising in providing bereavement support for people whose loved ones die of cancer. The charity is run by volunteer psychologists and professionals working in mental health, as well as those from other professions.
The charity hosts bereavement support groups and other therapeutic events online, and offers in-person support across the country in the form of informal get-togethers and walks.
Our wonderful charity team is expanding, and we are looking to recruit more compassionate, reliable, and conscientious volunteers with excellent communication skills and an interest in helping others.
Honorary psychologist roles involve co-facilitating bereavement support groups and events for people whose loved ones have died from cancer; these roles include supervision from Clinical Psychologists, as well as ongoing CPD and training opportunities.
The successful candidates will have excellent organisational skills, initiative, flexibility, warmth, and enthusiasm for learning more about bereavement support. Volunteers will receive scheduled supervision from Clinical Psychologists, participate in continued professional development sessions, and have opportunities to contribute to research. The charity offers excellent training, CPD, and career development opportunities for those interested in psychology. We are also very open to applications from individuals with a general interest in helping others.
