Support may involve advice on housing rights, accompanying clients to meetings, and practical assistance with moving in, such as obtaining furniture and setting up payment plans for household bills.

The role aims to ensure that clients who are ready to move on are given security and support to maximize their independence, dignity, and choice, aligning with the project’s objectives.

Please note this is a full-time role working on a rota basis, typically including a week of day shifts, a week of night shifts, and working every other weekend.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Providing clients with information on housing options, assisting with applications, advocating with housing providers, and accompanying them to interviews and viewings.
  • Acting as a key-worker for a caseload of residents, enabling them to take ownership of their journey with Salvation Army Homes.
  • Ensuring clients receive practical help to move in, including managing personal and housing benefit claims, community care grants, and domestic fuel connections.
  • Conducting strengths-based assessments, facilitating person-centred planning, and supporting individuals to achieve their goals and develop their talents.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with external agencies that can provide resources, funding, or services relevant to client needs, such as Registered Social Landlords, Local Authorities, and other support services.
