Job summary

North West Leicestershire District Council is recruiting a Homelessness Case Officer. The role combines prevention and relief caseloads, requiring knowledge of housing legislation and a customer-focused approach to support those who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.

A full driving licence is required for district-wide visits, with a hybrid working arrangement of home and office. The starting salary is £33,673 with 34 days holiday (38 after 5 years), a Local Government Pension Scheme

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of and experience working under part 7 of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
• Customer-focused approach and ability to work with customers who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.

Responsibilities

• Manage a combined caseload of prevention and relief cases.
• Help customers find housing solutions that meet their needs while ensuring statutory obligations are met.
