Job summary

Wokingham Borough Council is recruiting a Housing Advice Officer to support households facing homelessness. You will assess eligibility, provide personalised housing plans, conduct financial assessments and collaborate with outreach teams to reduce rough sleeping.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English (grade C or above) or equivalent.
• Good IT skills including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive housing advice to households who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.
• Assess cases and actively prevent homelessness while resolving threats with eligible households.
• Manage a caseload of homelessness applications and support actions in personalised housing plans.
• Work with Rough Sleeping Outreach Team to reduce rough sleeping in the borough.
