Job summary

Supply Care Solutions is recruiting a Homelessness & Prevention Officer to join Rugby Council on a temporary basis. You will assess homelessness applications, conduct interviews, investigate cases and issue statutory homelessness decisions while working under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

The role requires strong Local Authority homelessness experience, knowledge of the Housing Acts, and the ability to manage a busy caseload within statutory deadlines.

Qualifications

• Recent Local Authority homelessness or housing experience.
• Strong knowledge of Part VII Housing Act 1996.
• Excellent knowledge of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
• Experience making statutory homelessness decisions.
• Strong investigation and case management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload and meet statutory deadlines.
• Experience working with vulnerable customers and partner agencies.

• Experience of Part VI Housing Act 1996, Housing Waiting List applications and temporary accommodation would be advantageous.

Pay Rate: £30.00 per hour

Hours: 37 hours per week

Working Pattern: Hybrid – minimum 2 days per week in the Rugby office

About the Role:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Homelessness & Prevention Officer to join Rugby Council on a temporary basis.

The successful candidate will work closely with individuals and families who are homeless or threatened with homelessness, providing housing advice, assessments and investigations, and supporting customers to secure suitable accommodation.

Strong experience working under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 is essential.
