Job summary

Petrus, part of The Regenda Group, is recruiting a Homeless Prevention Support Worker in Rochdale. You will deliver trauma-informed, person-centred support to people experiencing homelessness, helping them access accommodation, benefits, healthcare and community resources.

Using outreach and hub-based services, you will assist clients to overcome barriers, prevent repeat homelessness and achieve independent living outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting people facing homelessness, housing insecurity or other complex challenges.
  • Strong communication and engagement skills with the ability to build trust and provide person-centred, trauma informed support.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload.

The role

The Homeless Prevention Support Worker role at Petrus will help prevent homelessness across Rochdale through our three-year Ending Homelessness in Communities Fund Project. You will provide person centred, trauma informed support to people experiencing homelessness, rough sleeping, or at risk of losing their home.


Through outreach, Hub based services and partnerships, you will help individuals access accommodation, welfare benefits, healthcare and community resources. Working alongside people in crisis, you will support them to overcome barriers, prevent repeat homelessness, and achieve sustainable independent living outcomes, making a lasting difference to lives and communities.


The right fit


  • We are looking for a compassionate, proactive and resilient individual with experience supporting people facing homelessness, housing insecurity or other complex challenges.

  • You have strong communication and engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and provide person centred, trauma informed support.

  • You have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload.

  • Experience of working in outreach, tenancy support, homelessness, housing, welfare or community settings is desirable.

  • Knowledge of accommodation options, benefits and support services within the Rochdale Local Authority is also desirable.
