Job summary

St Mungo's is seeking an Outreach Worker in Reading to assess needs and deliver person-centred support for individuals experiencing homelessness. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to address complex needs and reduce rough sleeping.

The role requires strong communication, listening skills, and the ability to build trust. A full UK driving licence is preferred; visa sponsorship is not available, and there is an ongoing right to work in the UK requirement.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and listening skills.
• The ability to build trust and develop effective relationships with a wide range of people and services.
• Adaptability and problem-solving skills, enabling you to respond to individual needs.
• An understanding of homelessness, including the barriers people face when accessing support.
• A full UK driving licence and additional language skills are an advantage, but not essential.
• Please note: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have existing and ongoing right to work in the UK for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess needs and deliver a person-centred support, and work in partnership with multidisciplinary teams and agencies across the city to meet clients' individual needs.
• Work with people to assess their needs and deliver a person-centred support, as well as working in partnership with multi-disciplinary teams and agencies.
• Engage with individuals experiencing homelessness and the local community to end rough sleeping.
