Job summary

Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall is seeking a Homecare Team Leader to lead and develop a team of Support Workers while still delivering high-quality care. You will perform inductions, supervisions and appraisals, complete assessments and risk assessments, write care plans and monitor medication records.

The role combines frontline care with people leadership, requiring good driving access and a passion for safeguarding and client-centred support. DBS checks are part of the recruitment process.

Qualifications

• NVQ or Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent.
• Experience supervising care staff.
• Understanding safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality.
• Experience of risk assessments and care planning.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Job description

Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission. That rating belongs to our team, and we are looking for a Homecare Team Leader to help us keep raising the bar.

This is a hands‑on leadership role. You will still deliver care yourself, and you will lead, supervise and develop a team of Support Workers, working closely with your Area Manager. You will carry out inductions, supervisions and appraisals, complete assessments and risk assessments, write care plans, carry out spot checks and check medication records.

We offer £14.46 per hour weekdays, £14.66 weekends and £21.08 bank holidays, a company pension, access to a company hire car, specialist training including PEG feeding and suctioning, support towards your Level 3, a Blue Light Card, a £100 refer‑a‑friend bonus, staff recognition events and wellbeing support.

We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role. An enhanced DBS check and references will be carried out.

• Previous experience in health and social care, ideally homecare
• Experience of supervising care staff
• NVQ or Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or similar
• Good understanding of safeguarding, health and safety and confidentiality
• Experience of risk assessments and care planning
• Confident giving personal care, including intimate personal care
• Good computer skills and clear written records
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Right to work in the UK
