Job summary

Anchor Hanover Group is seeking a Fire Contract Manager to lead and oversee fire safety contracts across our portfolio. Based homebased with travel, you will ensure services meet safety, regulatory and customer-experience standards.

Reporting to the Head of Fire and Building Safety, you will manage budgets, monitor contractor performance, and drive continuous improvements in compliance and safety for residents and buildings. A UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing compliance, maintenance, fire safety or asset-related contracts within social housing or another regulated environment.
• Strong experience of contractor performance management and delivering service improvements.
• Experience managing compliance programmes, repairs and planned remediation activities.
• Knowledge of active fire safety systems, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, sprinkler systems, smoke control systems and AOVs.
• Understanding of key fire safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
• Experience managing budgets, KPIs and performance reporting.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Qualification(s) in Fire Safety, Building Safety, Construction, Building Surveying or Property Compliance desirable.
• Membership of a relevant professional body (IFE, IFSM, CABE) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage active fire safety contracts, ensuring services are delivered safely, compliantly and in line with agreed performance standards.
• Monitor contractor performance through KPIs, audits, certification reviews and regular performance meetings.
• Oversee reactive repairs, Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) actions and planned remediation programmes, ensuring issues are resolved within agreed timescales.
• Manage contract budgets, expenditure and variations to deliver value for money.
• Provide technical advice and support on active fire safety systems and compliance matters.
• Maintain robust compliance reporting, governance processes and performance information.
• Develop strong relationships with contractors, operational teams and key stakeholders.
• Identify, manage and escalation fire safety risks appropriately.
• Drive continuous improvement across fire safety compliance and customer experience.
• Support policy development and service enhancements that strengthen resident and building safety.
