Job summary

Specsavers is seeking a Home Visits Optical Assistant to take optical services to patients at their homes across the Essex region. You will dispense lenses and provide eye care in community settings, bringing clinical care to the doorstep and supporting patients who cannot visit stores.

The role offers a flexible, part-time schedule (3 days per week, 9am-6pm). A full UK driving licence is essential, and you will be part of a supportive team with training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Current or recent optical experience (6 months–1 year) and able to dispense at all levels.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

You’ll be driving our services to the doorsteps of the nation, providing eye care to the people who are unable to come into our stores. Not only do you help them with their sight, you’ll also be bringing smiles and clinical care into the heart of your community.

The job is varied: you’ll work in a range of locations and testing environments every day – no two days are the same. Our region covers the whole of Essex, but our ever-expanding team is scattered across the region so we will always aim to keep you as close to home as possible, although there may be times you will have to cover anywhere within the Essex region.

We can only consider candidates who hold a full UK driving licence and can confidently dispense lenses at all levels.

• Salary: up to £29,000 per annum (pro rata) DOE (combined package of up to £35,000 per annum - pro rata)

What we’re looking for?

If this is still sounding like a bit of you, we do need you to have a few skills to get started as a Home Visits Optical Assistant.These include:

• Current or recent optical experience (at least 6 months-1 year) and you must be able to confidently dispense at all levels
• You must hold a full UK driving licence
