Job summary

Specsavers in the United Kingdom is seeking a Home Visits Optical Assistant to bring eye care directly to people in their own homes. This role blends eye care with community engagement, visiting diverse locations across the Essex region with flexibility and a patient-first approach.

You’ll help patients with optical services, dispense lenses, and support the team through mobile clinics and in-home visits, while meeting training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Current or recent optical experience (at least 6 months-1 year) and you must be able to confidently dispense at all levels
• You must hold a full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Drive our services to the doorsteps and provide eye care in people’s homes
• Dispense lenses at all levels for home-based patients
• Deliver clinical care and support to the community in various locations across Essex

You’ll be driving our services to the doorsteps of the nation, providing eye care to the people who are unable to come into our stores. Not only do you help them with their sight, you’ll also be bringing smiles and clinical care into the heart of your community.

The job is varied: you’ll work in a range of locations and testing environments every day – no two days are the same. Our region covers the whole of Essex, but our ever-expanding team is scattered across the region so we will always aim to keep you as close to home as possible, although there may be times you will have to cover anywhere within the Essex region.

We can only consider candidates who hold a full UK driving licence and can confidently dispense lenses at all levels.

• Salary: up to £29,000 per annum (pro rata) DOE (combined package of up to £35,000 per annum - pro rata)
