Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a Keyworker to join Targeted Family Help Charnwood, based at Loughborough Children and Family Centre. Two posts are available: 1 x 37 hours permanent and 1 x 30 hours for 12 months, with DBS check required.

The role involves providing direct home-based support to families with complex needs and delivering evidence-based interventions. We welcome applicants who can work flexibly, including hybrid options, and who are committed to safeguarding children

Qualifications

Experience of providing direct support in the home to children and families with complex needs, including mental health, substance misuse or related challenges.
Experience delivering evidence-based interventions such as solution-focused brief therapy, parenting programmes, or related approaches.
Knowledge of issues affecting families (domestic violence, poverty, housing, mental health) and ability to address safeguarding concerns.
Awareness of discrimination and social exclusion; ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to communicate sensitively, hold the child’s voice, and build professional confidence with families.

Responsibilities

Provide direct home-based support to children and families with complex needs.
Identify and deliver appropriate evidence-based interventions.
Support families to engage with services and manage conflicts or risk indicators.
Maintain accurate records and coordinate with the team to plan next steps.
