At Crownfield Junior, we believe in working as a team for the children that we are responsible for and care for. We believe that our children are at the centre of all we do and we encourage and support them to be the best that they can be. We treat the children as individuals and understand that their needs are unique to them.
We are looking to appoint a Home School Support Worker (including Safeguarding Officer) who will work with children and families who may be experiencing a range of challenges. This person will support and strengthen our already very positive links with parents and provide assistance to families during particularly difficult times.
Previous work experience related to health, child protection, social services, mentoring, counselling, and/or working within parenting programmes would be beneficial. The successful candidate will also need to be an enthusiastic, flexible, confident individual with excellent interpersonal and behaviour management skills.
Access to your own transport is essential, as is Business Driving Insurance.
The HSSW would work under the direction of the Senior Management Team.
Our Ofsted Report in July 2023 stated:
'Pupils at this school are kind, polite and hard-working. In lessons they listen to their teachers and to each other.’
‘Pupils with SEND are quickly identified and are very well supported to study the same broad curriculum as their classmates. Teachers and leaders work together to identify strategies that best meet these pupils’ needs.’ 'Safeguarding is prioritised and leaders are tenacious in securing support for the most vulnerable pupils.'
We are lucky to be set in beautiful grounds. Our children are great to work with: polite, enthusiastic, hard working with a sense of fun! We have a very stable staff who work together for the good of the children – they have a sense of humour too! We are a four-form entry school. We are partners with the Mawney School as the Learning and Achieving Federation through which we are exchanging good practice and resources to continue our journeys forward.
Please phone our reception on 01708 747070 if you need further information or a tour around the school. You may also wish to look at our website.
Interviews may include a task.
