Westfield Secondary School's Elective Home Education Service seeks a proactive Family Intervention Worker to support safeguarding and children's wellbeing. You will engage with home educators, explain EHE procedures, and help families access suitable education in line with DfE guidelines.

The role involves multi-agency collaboration, visits to families, signposting to SENDSARS and other services, maintaining case records, and contributing to pupil mapping and assessments while prioritising

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English (grade 9-4) or equivalent.
• Significant experience working with vulnerable children and families, promoting engagement and assessing risk.
• Ability to travel around Sheffield and work flexibly as required.

Responsabilités

• Conduct initial wellbeing visits/appointments to explain the EHE service and provide information.
• Signpost home educators to additional support and agencies (SENDSARS, Children Missing Education, admissions, SSENDIAS).
• Oversee referral documentation and EHE notifications via schools/professionals.
• Maintain pupil records, case files and reports; provide data when required.
• Attend and contribute to professional meetings to advocate for the child and inform professionals/parents.
• Respond to non-engagement and undertake planned/unannounced visits.
• Support pupil transitions between school, college or home.
• Develop understanding of internal EHE frameworks and policies and other agencies' referral processes.
