Job summary

Unity Health Care Solutions is seeking a compassionate Home Care Worker to support adults in their own homes in Hexham. This full-time role covers 37.5 hours per week across up to five days, with a starting rate of from £13.45 per hour.

You will provide personal care, well-being support, companionship, and help clients maintain independence, while keeping accurate care logs and reporting any concerns. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in home care (domiciliary care).

We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and confident Home Care Worker with a genuine passion for delivering outstanding, person-centred care. You will be working 37.5 hours a week on a full-time, permanent basis. Your role will make a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals in their own homes, ensuring they receive the high-quality support they deserve. Most of our service users are older adults, but we also support younger people, some of whom may have learning difficulties and challenging behaviours.

Main Duties of our Home Care Worker

• Personal Care: Assisting clients with daily living tasks, including getting up/going to bed, washing, showering, dressing and personal hygiene.
• Well-being Support: Preparing nutritious food and drinks, administering medication safely at the agreed level of support, and undertaking light household domestic duties.
• Companionship & Independence: Actively talking and listening to clients, promoting their independence, and helping them maintain vital connections with family, friends, and the wider community.
• Recording & Reporting: Maintaining accurate, detailed care logs and medication records, and promptly reporting any health, safety, or safeguarding concerns to management.

A Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) is available for the successful candidate, conditional upon:

• A valid right to work in the UK and meeting UK Home Office visa criteria.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• At least 1 year of experience working within a home care (domiciliary care) setting.
• Core care skills related to home care, including professional English literacy, numeracy, and digital proficiency for record-keeping.
• Willingness to undertake and complete the standards required for the Care Certificate and any statutory training provided by the company.
