Guardian Angel Senior Services Expansion Opportunity

Guardian Angel Senior Services is expanding! With 13 locations throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire, we are now looking to open a new location in the Connecticut Hartford-Enfield area.

Job Summary

To oversee the day-to-day operations of the office in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing home care. Manage home care services for Nursing, Home Health Aide/CNA, PCA, Homemaker, and Companion roles, ensuring high-quality client care and customer satisfaction. Provide leadership to maintain organizational effectiveness, develop new contacts, and contribute to organizational strategies, policies, and practices. This role will also oversee scheduling, collaborate with recruitment, and support staff as needed.

Profile

The Home Care Manager should demonstrate strong leadership qualities, adaptability, and a willingness to assist across all operational levels. The role requires flexibility, attention to detail, organizational skills, self-motivation, resourcefulness, and excellent communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Operations
  2. Set standards for client acceptance and service hours goals.
  3. Identify network development opportunities and follow-up with the Regional Manager.
  4. Oversee scheduling, client-caregiver matching, and data accuracy.
  5. Develop schedules collaboratively, considering client needs and caregiver strengths.
  6. Maintain communication with clients, families, caregivers, and staff through visits, meetings, and updates.
  7. Ensure care plans are current and quality patient care is delivered at home.
  8. Assist in recruiting office staff and manage phone triage and communication.
  9. Prepare payroll schedules, train new staff, and oversee caregiver holiday schedules.
  10. Generate monthly reports on various operational metrics.
  11. Participate in QA meetings and perform home visits as needed.
Supervisory
  1. Lead and motivate staff, build buy-in, and hold regular meetings.
  2. Support caregiver development and handle disciplinary actions.
  3. Develop staff training programs and ensure compliance with evaluations and employment paperwork.
  4. Manage office schedules, On Call reports, and shared email inboxes.
  5. Resolve client, family, and caregiver issues, including incident reporting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a health or human services field preferred.
  • Minimum two years' experience in personal care and management, preferably of paraprofessionals.
  • Effective communication skills and knowledge of government contracts (ASAPS is a plus).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, and electronic documentation.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with compassion and patience.
  • Resourcefulness, decision-making skills, and ability to work beyond normal hours.
  • Valid MA driver’s license, vehicle, and insurance required; participation in off-hours On-Call support.
