Job summary

Helpers Homecare is hiring a Care Assistant in Biggleswade to provide in-home support to vulnerable adults, with shifts in the mornings, evenings and alternate weekends. You will help with mobility, personal care, meals and light housekeeping, ensuring respectful, high-quality care in the clients’ own homes.

No prior experience is required as full training is provided; a driving licence is essential to cover local visits and mileage is paid.

Qualifications

• Must have full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Excellent communication and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Assist service users with mobility and personal care tasks.
• Help with daily domestic chores and laundry.
• Support meals, eating and drinking and simple feeding if needed.
• Assist with medication preparation and administration as required.
• Contribute to end-of-life care as needed.

We have opportunities of both full time and part time positions available. Working usual shift patterns of;

• Mornings 7am-3pm
• Evenings 4pm-10pm
• Alternative weekends

As a Home Care Worker you’ll provide life-changing care and support that enables vulnerable adults of all ages to live fulfilling lives, within their own homes.

Job Description

• Helping service users overcome any mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including helping in the use of, and care of aids/adaptations and personal equipment.
• Domestic tasks such as making and changing beds, tidying rooms, light cleaning, laundry and emptying commodes
• Our home care assistants are responsible for assisting service users with personal care such as washing, bathing and toileting arrangements.
• Help with eating and drinking by preparing meals, snacks and drinks, assisting with feeding if required
• Support with preparing and administering medication.
• Contribute as needed to a person’s end-of-life care

Requirements

• Have a right to work within the UK
• A driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role.
• No previous experience is necessary but you will need to demonstrate real compassion, be an excellent communicator and problem solver, and be committed to delivering high-quality, respectful care
