Job summary

Helpers Homecare in Stevenage is looking for Care Assistants to join our care teams across Stevenage and surrounding areas. Full time or part time roles with morning and evening shifts; no previous experience required, full training provided, driving licence and vehicle access required.

We offer pay at £13.77–£15.12 per hour, paid mileage, enhanced rates for unsociable hours, and benefits including pension and paid holidays. Regular hours and opportunities for promotion are available.

Qualifications

• Must have a right to work in the UK
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role
• No previous experience required but must show compassion, be a strong communicator and problem solver

Responsibilities

• Assist service users with mobility and use of aids and equipment
• Perform domestic tasks: beds, tidying, light cleaning and laundry
• Support with personal care including washing, bathing and toileting
• Help with meals and hydration, assist with feeding if required
• Assist with medication administration when needed
• Support end-of-life care where appropriate

• Mornings 7am-3pm

Job Description

• Helping service users overcome any mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including helping in the use of, and care of aids/adaptations and personal equipment.
• Domestic tasks such as making and changing beds, tidying rooms, light cleaning, laundry and emptying commodes
• Our home care assistants are responsible for assisting service users with personal care such as washing, bathing and toileting arrangements.
• Help with eating and drinking by preparing meals, snacks and drinks, assisting with feeding if required
• Support with preparing and administering medication.
• Contribute as needed to a person’s end-of-life care
