Job summary

A leading children's services provider in the UK seeks a part-time SENDIASS Support Worker to provide essential support for children and young people with special educational needs. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a qualification in SEND law or commitment to acquire it. Working from home, the successful candidate will assist families through various SEND processes, advocating for clear outcomes and fostering self-advocacy. Qualifications

  • Track record or personal experience in special educational needs, disabilities, education, health or social care.
  • Professional approach and outcome-focused capability.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own car.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual support to children and young people with SEND.
  • Help customers manage expectations of support.
  • Refer to relevant SEND legislation and policy during support.
  • Identify barriers faced by customers and advocate for solutions.
  • Coach customers to self-advocate effectively.
  • Work at least 1 advice shift per week answering helpline queries.
  • Accurately record advice given and maintain case records.
  • Develop professional relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to SENDIASS website and social media content.

Education

Qualification in SEND law or willingness to pursue training
