Job summary

Focus Group is seeking an IT Technical Engineer for Manchester to join the Operations team. This home-based role includes travel to North-area customers and a salary up to £38,000 with a company van.

You will install, configure and support ICT solutions for businesses of all sizes, both remotely and on site, with opportunities for progression into leadership and senior technical roles. A strong Microsoft stack background and driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Essential IT/security and telecoms support background.
• Proficient with Windows desktop/server and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with networking gear incl. firewalls, routers, switches, Wi‑Fi.
• Cloud tech experience in Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, SharePoint.
• VoIP tech incl. SIP, ISDN and related vendors.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and attention to detail.
• Independent work capability with teamwork as needed.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance on ICT services, remotely or onsite.
• Install and configure ICT solutions, remotely or onsite.
• Provide high-quality customer experience during IT/telephony installations and maintenance.
• Attend field fault visits for time-critical issues.
• Support colleagues remotely or onsite as needed.
• Assist project delivery with small to large projects as part of a team.
• Collaborate with project management, senior engineers and Service Desk.
• Document customer IT infrastructure and updates.
