Job summary

A large and highly successful business is seeking an accomplished IT Field Engineer to join its Stockport-based team. This is an onsite and field-based role—you’ll work from the office in Stockport 2 or 3 days per week and travel to other sites across the country.

A full UK driving licence is mandatory. You’ll provide proactive 1st and 2nd line user and systems support in a Windows environment, with hardware support for laptops, PCs, switches and printers.

Qualifications

• Excellent communicator with 1st and 2nd line support experience in a Windows environment.
• Experience with hardware support for laptops, PCs, switches and printers.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Windows client environments.
• Solid IT hardware experience.
• Solid understanding of networking, firewalls, and security best practices.
• Flexibility to travel for work.

Please note this is an onsite and field based role – you’ll work from the office in Stockport 2 or 3 days per week and spend the rest of your time supporting users at other sites across the country, so a full UK driving licence is mandatory.

In order to be suitable for this role, you MUST be an excellent communicator with demonstrable expertise providing a proactive 1st and 2nd line user and systems support service in a Windows environment. You will have experience with hardware support for laptops, PCs, switches and printers, along with excellent Office 365, Windows, Azure and Active Directory experience. You will be a natural problem solver with a passion for technology. Key requirements include:

• Strong background in 2nd line IT support and infrastructure management

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Windows client environments

• Solid IT hardware experience

• Solid understanding of networking, firewalls, and security best practices
