HORIBA MIRA seeks an experienced Senior Technician to join the HSPI team in Nuneaton on a 12-month contract. The role involves hands-on support for vehicle, safety and infrastructure testing, guiding technicians and ensuring high standards of safety and quality in all activities.

You will coordinate daily tasks, support calibration and maintenance, and drive continuous improvement across the facility while working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading or coordinating colleagues in a technical, workshop or testing environment.
  • A Level 4/HNC in a mechanical or engineering qualification (e.g., City & Guilds).
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Flexible approach and the ability to adapt within a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in testing, research and development, instrumentation, calibration management or workshop/site safety would be advantageous.

Job description

We're looking for a Senior Technician to join our Highway Safety & Protection of Infrastructure (HSPI) team in Nuneaton on a 12-month contract (Inside IR35). This is a hands-on role supporting the preparation and delivery of vehicle, safety and security testing programmes, while providing day-to-day guidance and support to technicians across the facility. You'll play a key role in ensuring testing activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.This could be an excellent opportunity for someone with a workshop, testing or engineering background who enjoys practical problem-solving, coordinating activities and working within a dynamic test environment. You'll have the opportunity to support a wide range of vehicle, safety and infrastructure testing programmes while helping to drive continuous improvement across the facility. Please note; this role involves working outdoors in all weathers.

Overview of Highwat Safety and Protection Infrastructure
  • This is a 12-month contract (Inside IR35).
  • Working 39 hours per week.
  • Rate: Up to £21 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
  • Roles requires working outside in all weathers
  • Security clearance will be required for this role due to the nature of work.
