EdStart Schools invites applications for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant based at our Bury campus. You will support pupils with SEMH needs and EHCPs, working closely with teachers to deliver differentiated lessons and small-group sessions in the afternoon.

The role requires a calm, compassionate approach, strong communication, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and carers. A recognised HLTA qualification is desirable, with experience in education a plus.

Qualificações

• HLTA qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
• Experience in a school/education setting, ideally supporting SEMH/SEN/EHCPs.
• Ability to support a teacher and lead small groups independently when required.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils who may present challenging behaviours.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Calm, consistent and compassionate approach.
• Strong organisation and time-management skills.
• A commitment to inclusive education and improving outcomes.
• Good understanding of safeguarding procedures and responsibilities.

Responsabilidades

• Support delivery of engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEMH, SEN and EHCPs.
• Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, adapting as needed.
• Lead or support afternoon small-group sessions independently.
• Support PSHE activities to develop social and personal skills.
• Assist with planning and resource preparation for lessons.
• Support pupils to regulate behaviour and emotions using positive approaches.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
• Collaborate with SENCo and wider team to implement EHCP strategies.
• Differentiate support to access the curriculum for diverse learners.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and carers.
• Adhere to safeguarding policies and promote pupil wellbeing.
• Engage in professional development on SEMH, SEN and alternative provision.
