Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist SEN school in Beverley. You will support a small SEMH unit of 6 students and deliver targeted interventions under the direction of the class teacher.

The role requires HLTA status or equivalent, prior SEMH experience, and an Enhanced DBS. A calm, patient approach and ability to work with multidisciplinary professionals are essential.

Qualifications

• Hold HLTA status or equivalent
• Experience working with SEMH students
• Demonstrate patience, resilience and a calm approach
• Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willing to apply

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning in a small SEMH unit (6 students)
• Deliver targeted interventions, small-group or 1:1 support
• Assist with behaviour support, de-escalation and individual support plans
• Contribute to planning, assessment and progress recording
• Support routines, transitions and personal care as required
• Work with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and external professionals
