Qualifications

• Strong understanding of how to adapt activities to support a wide range of needs.
• Excellent communication skills, patience, and a flexible, proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Music and Drama sessions, adapting activities to meet individual needs of pupils with SEND.
• Lead small group interventions and whole-class sessions under guidance of teaching staff.
• Use creative approaches, including performance, rhythm, movement, and role play, to support communication, confidence, and emotional expression.
• Provide classroom cover where required, ensuring lessons continue smoothly and effectively.
• Support pupils’ social and emotional development, using calm and consistent strategies to encourage participation and positive behaviour.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to create inclusive and engaging learning experiences.

A welcoming SEND school in Spalding is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a full-time, with the view of a permanent basis from September. This role has a strong focus on Music and Drama, supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs to express themselves, build confidence, and engage in learning through the arts.
