Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in Croydon to support learning across year groups and lead lessons in the absence of the class teacher. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to deliver engaging activities and monitor pupil progress.

We welcome applicants with HLTA status or strong classroom support experience, who are confident managing groups and committed to safeguarding and inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Holds HLTA status or has significant classroom support experience.
• Experience in a primary or secondary school.
• Confident leading lessons and managing groups independently.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Committed to safeguarding and inclusive education.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Lead small group interventions to help pupils achieve targets.
• Support learning across a range of year groups and abilities.
• Work with teachers to plan and deliver engaging activities.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs to access the curriculum.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff.
• Promote positive behaviour and a safe learning environment.
