Job summary

Teaching Vacancies is seeking an Advanced or Higher Level Teaching Assistant. The role starts in Key Stage One and offers the chance to contribute across the school in varied learning environments. You'll support lessons, assist individuals and groups, and help foster an inclusive, stimulating classroom culture.

Based on qualifications, you'll cover absences and help plan and evaluate lessons, while upholding safeguarding standards and promoting pupil wellbeing within a collaborative school team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is required.
• Experience working with children in an education setting.
• Knowledge of safeguarding children and young people is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support engaging lessons and activities alongside the class teacher.
• Deliver support to individuals and small groups under the guidance of the class teacher to maximise progress.
• Monitor pupil development and provide clear, timely feedback.
• Help prepare an organised, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Supervise pupils and promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively as part of a supportive school team.
• Cover short term teacher absence and communicate pupil work as planned by the classroom teacher.
• Plan teaching and learning objectives, prepare and deliver learning activities and evaluate and adjust lessons/work plans according to pupil responses/needs.
