Job summary

Reed Education is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Wakefield (WF4) seeking a passionate HLTA to start in September 2026 for a long-term role. You will support learning across EYFS to KS2 within a collaborative teaching team.

The successful HLTA will lead classroom activities, provide PPA cover, and support pupils with SEND in a positive, inclusive environment, contributing to achievement and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or substantial equivalent experience.
• Recent UK primary school experience.
• Ability to deliver lessons independently across primary year groups.
• Experience supporting children with SEND.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Provide high-quality PPA cover when required.
• Lead small-group and one-to-one intervention programmes.
• Support teachers with planning, preparation and assessment.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
• Support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
