Job summary

Somerlea Park Junior School is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our school community. The role involves leading parts of the curriculum, supporting small groups and individual learners, and contributing to pupil progress and well-being.

The HLTA will work collaboratively with class teachers to plan differentiated activities, manage classrooms and assist pupils with SEND to access learning.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or equivalent
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management
• Organised, communicative and collaborative

Responsibilities

• Provide cover lessons and deliver whole-class teaching when needed.
• Plan, prepare and deliver differentiated activities with class teachers.
• Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
• Assist pupils with additional needs (SEND) to access the curriculum.
• Monitor progress and contribute to reporting with feedback to teachers.
