Job summary

Protocol Education Limited in Morpeth is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a secure children’s unit. The role focuses on strong behaviour management, building trust with young people, and helping learners engage with their education.

You will work within the education team delivering a structured learning environment, provide 1:1 and small-group support, monitor progress and support safeguarding procedures, with ongoing training and development offered.

Responsibilities

• Support lessons across a range of subjects
• Deliver activities and interventions where appropriate
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support
• Support behaviour management
• Help young people regulate emotions and manage difficult situations
• Encourage positive engagement with education
• Maintain clear and consistent boundaries
• Monitor progress and feed back to teaching staff
• Support safeguarding and welfare procedures
• Work closely with colleagues and other professionals
