Job summary

Academics are recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) at a 2 Form Entry primary school in Havering, London. The role starts in September or October 2026 and offers teacher training from September 2027.

The HLTA will work with teachers across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, cover lessons during PPA, and support a bespoke, creative curriculum to help all children achieve their educational outcomes. The school offers excellent CPD and a supportive team, with parking and good transport links.

Qualifications

• Ideally hold the HLTA qualification or a relevant education degree.
• Experience as HLTA or Teaching Assistant.
• More than 1 year experience as Teaching Assistant.
• Experience covering classes or delivering interventions; SEN experience.

Responsibilities

• Cover lessons during PPA and release time across EYFS–KS2.
• Support teaching and learning activities across the school.
• Deliver a bespoke, creative curriculum and personalised education.
• Work with teachers to plan and deliver lessons and interventions.
