Job summary

The Forum School is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our residential specialist setting. You will work with teachers and Learning Support Workers to deliver high-quality learning support and contribute to the assessment of practice aimed at NVQ 3 qualifications for Teaching Assistants.

You will supervise classes in the absence of a teacher, provide care and support to students aged 7 to 19 with autism and complex needs, and help develop literacy and numeracy skills in

Qualifications

HLTA with NVQ 3 or equivalent Teaching Assistant qualification.
Experience in a residential school setting preferred.
Ability to supervise a class in the absence of a teacher.
Commitment to safeguarding and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

To monitor and promote high-quality relationships between staff and students.
To provide care and support for individual students and groups, including health and personal care as required.
To help students participate in learning activities.
To assist teachers and Learning Support Workers with literacy and numeracy development.
To observe student performance and contribute to records and reports.
To support planning and evaluation of learning activities and ICT use in the classroom.
