Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is seeking an experienced HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support a SEND setting in Stoke-on-Trent. The post focuses on practical vocational subjects such as Joinery, Brickwork, Plastering and Motor Vehicle studies, with an emphasis on building confidence and engagement.

The successful candidate will hold a HLTA qualification (ECTs / QTS welcome) and have experience with SEMH learners.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or equivalent welcomed.
• Experience delivering vocational subjects such as joinery, brickwork, plastering or motor vehicle.
• Experience working with SEMH learners.

Job Title : HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Location :Stoke-On-Trent

Do you have experience delivering vocational and alternative practical subjects such as motor vehicles / plastering etc? ?

Do you have resilience and patience?

I am proud to be looking for a HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant based in Stoke to support a SEND setting with their vocational courses. The setting works with children with SEMH needs (Social, Emotional, Mental Health), who require additional support. The successful HLTA will play a crucial role in building these young peoples confidence, practical skills and engagement with learning.

The successful HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant will be delivering a range of practical vocational subjects such as Joinery / carpentry, brickwork, plastering, Motor Vehicle studies.

The successful HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant will have:

• Minimum HLTA Qualification (ECTs / QTS also welcome to apply)
• Experience in at least one of the above vocational avenues
• Experience working with children from an SEMH background
• Deliver hands on, practical learning
• Be able to create a calm, supportive environment for learners
• Have a special interest in working with vulnerable young people
